Top Gear Boxster vs. S2000 vs Z4
 

Hi Guys, I was watching top Gear today (downloaded the last 5 years worth lol) and found this clip in Season 3 episode 2. It's their review of the Boxster vs. S2000 vs. Z4 on the Isle of Man. Pretty good watch, about 12 mins.

Or an S, but I guess the value is too high for that compario... The 987 will go against the new Z4 with the S2000 is gonna have a hard time keeping up now, same crappy ass 4 cyl in it. Acctually the 2.0 i-vtec in the S2000 is a remarkable engine, just not my choice for a roadster. A 6 seems so much more fitting, 8 would be too big.

It's been bumped up to a 2.2L since then... and you're right, truly remarkable.
...Like a 3.6 GT3 at 415hp!

Why, the rear tires don't know the difference?

Neither do the elapsed times.

Nor does the gas mileage, which is better in the V8 than in the flat six.

I'm impressed by the work of engineers, able to squeeze out every ounce of power from a limited size. Any manufacturer could pile on more displacement and pile on more rubber. But staying within size limits... rather, more horsepower per liter to me makes a car noteworthy to me.
