apex at all costs?

I would have liked to see where the steering wheel was for this.....looks like the fellow turned in a second time at high speed to get the apex and.....

Did you notice how many other set of track in the same area? Ouch

Welcome to WSIR.
He was there in the early morning, running too fast, too soon, didn't have his car in the right place, turned in too early and ran out of track. As soon as he turned-in he was getting a dirt bath. He would have been better going straight off to the left and driving it off. Wheel off at corner exit, slingshotting across the track into the dirt on the far side is a common error that we have all made. If your car is straight you just get dirty. If your car is sideways you risk a roll. Lucky he walked away. Turn 9 is pretty hairy.

I've been on the big track with my bike. That track eats tires. Or at least with the way I ride..

Yeah sure looks tough...it's flat, not blind but leads you in at high speed and then looks to go decreasing radius on you real quick...with the sand traps of doom on either side. Looks like a late apex is best until you know your speed in..

How do Boxsters do when they go off there sideways?

With the low CG is seems like they are less likely to roll, although if the sand is soft/deep all bets are off.

Is the racing insurance event coverage for liability and medical only or is there any % of car value replacement?

I figure in racing the car repair is on your own dime otherwise the premium would be huge?

Always wondered how that worked if you damaged someone elses race car. Liability coverage?

you know, it may be the low volume of the audio, but I didn't see or hear any understeer in that video, nor oversteer from him trying to correct - it looks like he wasn't paying attention and just got pushed onto the far shoulder, didn't think it would do to him what it did to him.
