Trouble with Mozilla Firefox

I don't know if it's the way it reads or doesn't read cookies or what, but when I come onto this site using Mozilla Firefox, it doesn't automatically log me into the front page. It will show me logged in if I click onto a forum though. Also, on another computer with Firefox, I can't get anything but the 986forum.com logo and the header advertisement. I don't see any of these issues with Internet Explorer.

I had a number of sites that could not handle firefox. Switched back to IE for that reason. Too bad, it was faster but quirky.

I also seems to pick up less spyware.

I log on to the site in Firefox with no trouble. It is set to allow cookies from the original (trusted) site only. I open sites that Firefox does not like in IE, but that is rare. I think the security of IE is waaaaay too suspect to use it routinely. I use several spyware condoms, and I think Firefox is much less vulnerable to malware.

The main feature I like is the tabbed browsing. Oh well, to each his own!

Tabbed browsing is now a feature in the latest Internet Explorer, so that's no longer a selling point.

I'm using Firefox with no problems here. It always shows me logged in on the front page. I'll assume you're using the latest version. Try hitting Ctrl-Shift-Del--this will clear all your private data. This won't clear your cookies by default though--you can access all that stuff from the Tools->Options Dialog. Look on the History tab.

I have the same issue, on multiple platforms - Windows, Solaris and Linux (Firefox and/or Mozilla on all three, various versions up through 1.5.0.1 on Firefox/Linux). When I enter on www.986forum.com, I'm not shown as recognized and the "New Posts" link is not available. I figured out a long time ago that the first thing I should do is click on the "Forums" link and presto! I'm now recognized when that page loads. I don't know which side of the SW equation is doing the "wrong" thing... I'm sure there would be some religious arguments on both sides, vBulletin and Mozilla.

I think I may have found a "Firefox" solution today by accident. Didn't type in the "www." part (just http://986forum.com) and it worked straight away - no need to click on the forums link to have the site recognize me and offer the "New Posts" link.

Cool, I guess the cookie has "www" listed in the cookie value, so it does not recognize anything coming without it. Vbulletin bug?
