How I achieved perfect wheel fitment on my 986.

This year, I decided it was time for my car to stop looking like a monster truck. (See before photo)

However, I had already recently replaced the shocks with Koni units, so coilovers were out of the question. I wanted to get a set of lowering springs that fit the Konis. Lucky for me Eibach pro kit springs were made for street use on Koni shocks. I found a set in Europe, ordered and installed them. After installing them, the car sat like so:

It looked okay from afar, but I was not satisfied. It was too low and the wheels still suffered from the terrible, too narrow offset. There was also way too much camber in the rear. It rode much better than I had expected, however!

To fix the alignment issues, I bought demonspeed fully adjustable toe arms and had it hand aligned by an indy mechanic who focuses on Porsches.

It drove better, with slightly less camber, but the super low height and camber made it look ridiculous. I needed to raise the car up a little bit.

I ended up installing some cheap spring spacers between the strut plate and the springs themselves. There was a very small, if any, change in ride quality, but the car was now the perfect height! That means I can add my wheel spacers now! I was afraid of rubbing, but it rarely rubs, only in the rear and when hitting a large bump going much too fast. If it becomes more of a problem, I will get 15mm or 17mm spacers for the rear wheels.

Note: I also changed a few things on the front and rear of the car.

Final Product: Koni Struts, Eibach Springs, Spring spacers, 20mm rear spacers, 5mm front spacers.

If you made it this far, thanks for reading, and feel free to ask any questions!
