thanks. in addition to my 2000 arctic silver s, i also have a 1999 that had been converted to a ruf 3600S clone. it's in the process of turning into a race car (or a 3.6L engine donor, depending on my mood and bank account balance). hence the wheels.

when i bought it, i transported it with my z-top on. here's a super dirty pic of the result ...

i thought it was cool, until i got told it looked like a 350z.

Nice, that's Todd H's old car! Where on earth did you find that?

Figured he would never sell it, considering the cost of the RUF parts alone well exceeds what one could ever expect to get back on the used market (not to mention the countless hours he spent figuring out all of the engine swap stuff).

Radium King, Thanks for the invite ...

My 2001 Z top. Zeintech went bankrupt while it was in transit 2006 or 2007 I don't remember. Swapped in a 2002 3.2 and a 1997 "short shift" tiptronic. Joe Toth front splitter and rear wing. I want to get his side skirts and diffuser.

That's a one off made by a bodyshop. The process was shown in one of the Facebook 986 groups.

hi, yes, todd's car. i did buy it off him a few years back (perhaps when these cars still had some value). poor thing is worth more in parts then as-is. pretty car, but was built on a 99 chassis w 200k that had served as his test-bed for various engine swaps, so wiring harness was seriously chewed up, plastics were old and cracked, etc. i've slowly been moving the good bits over onto my 2000 which is a much better platform that i've already done a bunch of work on. next step is the engine (he had the 3.6 going into a 5-speed, which i don't think will survive long at the track).

I read on Facebook that those tops can take up to 7 hours and 5 people to remove and put on. A complete hassle if you're going for a day trip.

I know right. That guy is a tool. Never had one, never saw one but always heard they are junk. Oh and factory hardtops fit like crap but he can take one off by himself, in 3 seconds. He never did post a video of that though 🤷****♀️ These tops aren't perfect but what a Dumba**
