Even though my tt has tint, i would prefer that it didn't. Although Dark tint will save the interior if the car sits in the sun often. I will eventually take it off the side windows.

In California, you are very limited to how dark the driver and passenger windows can be. Must allow at least 70% transmission

Basically, a cop need to be able to see inside the car

Since our Box is only taken out on days we can put the top down, (and so far the car has not seen rain since we bought it) we decided to skip the tinting process.

(although I have ALWAYS tinted every other car I owned)

My '07 Cayman S was dark green with very dark tint and looked GREAT!!

same here in TN. actually have a certificate from the shop that says it is legal.

this film is a new carbon fiber nano tek film. legal amount of light, but blocks more heat.

this is my daily car and no covered parking at my work, so it helps with the heat on these 90+ days. with the tinted windows and the sunshade in the windshield, it is not hot at all in the car, even after sitting for hours in the sun.

interesting. Here a certificate isn't worth the paper it is printed on
This windows look really dark, maybe its just the pic

yeah, it looks really dark in the pic, not very dark at all from the inside or from the outside in the daylight.

my certificate may be worthless as well, but supposedly all their film is legal. Music City Window Tint is a high end shop, if you buy a Porsche from the nearby dealer and ask for the window to be tinted, that is where they take it.... for a nice little markup on the price i'm sure.
So I fell pretty confident it is legal. besides, if I am driving, 90% of the time the top is down.

Top down is the only way to go
Easy for me as in San Diego it almost never rains

lol, yeah I was just thinking earlier when someone said their boxster had never been in the rain.
living in Middle Tennessee, that is not an option. I have literally gone into a store with not a cloud in the sky, come out with the sun still shining but everything rain-soaked.
if I only drove mine on 0% chance of rain days, it would never get driven.

lucky you living in SD, I have a good friend that lives in Santa Monica, he gives me grief about how nice the weather is all the time... until he experienced his first earthquake :).

I had tint on my windows when I got my car. Looks kinda goofy to me with the top down and windows up on the freeway to keep the wind blowing in the cockpit, so I removed it.

I don't have to park in the sun every day though. That would be different!

I'll take earthquakes anyway over tornadoes and hurricanes. They are just like riding a roller-coaster lol

BTW, I will be in Nashville next week, maybe we can grab a beer or something
I'd love to see you audio install, I want to use the Parrot Asteroid Smart and your hydro dipping

also,
I agree about earthquakes vs Tornadoes. I grew up in Japan, so shakers are second nature. I have been incredible lucky when it comes to weather. had about 4 or 5 really bad tornadoes in the last 10 years, I have seen the devastation, but not so much as a loose shingle for me.
we don't get much effect from hurricanes this far inland, but I was in New Jersey during Sandy. slept through it all. didn't realize how bad it was until we had to drive out of it. almost ran out of gas before we found a station with electricity.

Tint all around here. Here in AZ as long as it's not too dark it legal. Some guys are doing the front windshield which is illegal but as long as it's not too dark they tend to get away with it.
