Pics of S with 18x10 on stock height please
I know a number of Boxster S have 18's and it looks good. But I'm loking at putting 18x10s and 18x7 or 8 in the front. Would I need to lower it? I want to see how big the gap is on stock height. I guess I'll take the ones with lowered springs too to see how nice it can be.

My car is lowered but here you go. The fronts are 18X8.5 and the rears are 18X10...

did you get the wheels before it was lowered? if so, how did it look? it seems like lowering it is the way to go. any others?

And which spring are they? H&R or Eibach?

The car was actually lowered before i got the wheels...In that picture the car is on H&R Springs and Bilstein sport shocks. However, i am now running the Bilstein PSS9 setup.
In terms of looks and ride height, they are the same with both the H&R and PSS9(adjustable).

Look at the front end of yours and the front end of mine....Theres a good 1.5" there

hmm
it doesn't look bad. but i wonder how the aftermarket wheels will look? it seems like everyone that has put on 18x10 aftermarket wheels have lowered the car.
does it handle a lot better? we know theses thing already handle so well. i would think that messing with the suspension (lowering) will just make the ride stiffer and not handle as much. we don't have too much high center of gravity to worry about. these cars are alreeady sitting fairly low stcok.
i guess how much is too much and how much is enough? there's that suspension package that comes stock that lowers the car a bit less than the north american cars. i forgot the name.
i may start a new thread on suspension. i'll also look around.

Well with the H&R's your right its moslty show and stiffness, however the PSS9 system is in a whole new class. If you think the boxster handled well stock, the PSS9 will blow you away.

Your picture is at a bad angle to judge, but I think you under-estimate how big of a drop 1.5" is. If my car was dropped 1.5" I would be tucking rim. This is my old Nissan Altima before and after a 1.25" drop... (plus I added bigger rims which would have made a gap more noticable)
