Official Viola Metallic Thread

I thought I would be the first to start a thread for Viola Metallic. Any member with this rare, one-of-kind Porsche color - post it here !!

p.s. Please try and post photos that aren't more than a decade old.

Funny I just came across this thread. Here's a zoomed in picture of the car on a nice sunny day.

It is a very special colour and I always receive compliments

Very nice! What colour WAS your top? Mine is hard to describe but is an off-white or linen colour. I may go to blue in spring or black or original- also there's the wine colour which looks rich too me but will take the attention away from the paint. I like the top to standout from the body as it makes the fact that it's a rag top more obvious- more special. To me a rag top screams 'for pleasure only!'

violametallic-S- 03-01-2014 01:35 PM

It was a blue-ish color. I was debating to keep it oem color or change it to black. I went with the black bc IMO it makes it look newer and cleaner.

Post a few pics of your car ...

RUF front bumper is the ultimate version. Love the ride height too. Those too mods alone make a huge difference.

violametallic-S- 06-06-2014 06:13 PM

Yes it was. I've heard the option was 3-5000usd. Don't know the true number.

woodsman 06-08-2014 12:01 PM

It was $4100 in Canada in 2001. Only available on ' build to order' cars.

43K miles, sport seats, turbolike wheels.

The viola metallic paint is listed as a $3010 option on my cars' window sticker. The story I heard was that it sat in the showroom for months, so either not a special order or the buyer fell through after the order.

That's the optional Sport Design. It's also on the gauge surrounds, back of sport seats and the door latch surround.

I just saw a '14 Panamera Turbo with amethyst metallic exterior. Very close to our Viola metallic.

It was originally a paint to sample color for a 993 Turbo S and later used on other models.
