Well happy now, rims arrived just waiting for side skirts then off to paint shop :):)http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1377277454.jpg
While she's away, tyres fitted and garage cleaned out then back on the tarmac again. (might have her wrapped in white first though ??)

i always liked those rims!

tonichristi 08-24-2013 08:37 AM

Porsches don't ride on "rims". Those are wheels. Nice wheels! :)

Seriously guys, rims are for rappers.

Goodbiketime 08-24-2013 06:22 PM

Thanks for the compliments.

where i bought the skirts from, 135 GBP
I was pleasently surprised how well they fitted straight from the box, only minor cutting and trimming required (the trusty Dremmel, easily takes care of that job)
Seured underside with stainless fixings, at the rear arch end all original fixings that hold on the original black rubber mud guard were used.
I need to find something to fix the top edge when i get them back from painting, was thinking about using industrial strength double sided tape, anyone got any other ideas?

lucky day today,
i was just looking through my local classifieds (not really looking for anything in particular) and hey! what do i see? a set of speedster humps for sale, after a quick phone call and an hours drive i am now the proud owner of the humps.
The best bit is, when i get there and inspect them, it turns out they're OEM ( the owner did'nt know when i asked him on the phone)
They're slightly different colour to my box but the GT3 kit is being painted soon so they'll be done then.
Happy days :):):)http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1379304285.jpg

Mate, those humps look absolutely fab. The silver colour mesh grill and painted rollbar is all good taste. Nicely done.

Lucky bugger ;)

always porsche 09-16-2013 09:58 AM

Cheers for the compliments Nine8Six, "Lucky Bugger" is so right, i've been looking for some of these for ages but they were either copy RUBBISH of too BL--dy exspensive :cheers:

I've been looking for these wheels myself but can only find them with 11inch rears. What size are these?

always porsche 09-21-2013 08:13 AM

Hi T the I,

They are 10inch rears and 8inch fronts. you'll find them on E Bay. I think they really suit the Box, not too much silver just enough, the black gives a more aggressive look which is what i was looking for.http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1379779974.jpg

Thats a good look, cant wait to see it after paint. Can you tell me what seller on ebay, I cant seem to locate them. Much appreciated

Johnny Danger 09-21-2013 07:23 PM

Starting to look good, even though the steering wheel is on the wrong side. :)

always porsche 09-21-2013 11:51 PM

i had them from a company called MAD on Motors, in the UK,

madonmotors@googlemail.com

If you type in "Boxster wheels 18inch" you'll find them, they also do them in 19inch.
It's turning to our winter season over here so paint will be in the next few weeks and then i'll fit the DRL's, mesh and so on.

Thanks for the interest, i'll keep the pic's coming as it happens.

:cheers::cheers::)
