Another tip: the colder the environment, the more smooth the finish will be. I found this out thanks to our wonderful Missouri weather. When I did my first wheel, it was only about 40°f outside and in my garage(was open for air circulation). The finish on that one came out very smooth. When I got around to doing wheel #2 the next week, it was about 65 to 70°f outside and in my garage. The coats dried much faster and had a slightly more textured appearance. I ended up peeling the first one and doing over in the warmer weather as I preferred the slightly more textured look.
