Building a Boxster Sport Classic

Hi guys, so I picked up this green 2001 Boxster 2 months ago as a project car. It was forest green, not my color at all but I was going to paint it so didn't care. I wanted to build a (Sport Classic Gray colorcode=63A) like the 2010 911 that came out a few years ago. Here are my upgrades all done by me. Just wanted to share some of the things you can do easily to this car.

-Add Xenon Litronic headlamps -yes, truely plug & play nothing to it.
-Add GT3 spoiler, just remove the stock, measure and drill 2 holes on the new spoiler
-Add clear lens sure does take off years to the 2001, looks modern, fresh, and updated
-Add a rear diffuser gives it a more aggressive look
-Add LEDs, screw on to front grille but you will need to remove the front bumper to do this, pretty easy. Tap the side marker lines and it will work and use your oem knob to control it.
-Add Mesh behide your grille adds detail and beauty and keeps insects and leaves out
-Add vinyl racing stripes, tape down the middle, clean and spray soapy water on car and adhesive backing, slide in place and squeegee the water out.
-Add a new shift knob is very easy, clips holds it in console, pull straight up oem, add new knob, secure with the lil screw and snap back in.
-Add racing pedals, remove rubber shoes, drill holes to the pegs and secure with screws
-Add a Speedster hump sure changes the look of the car as well, almost like a 996 cabrio but with a 2 seater look to it.
-Add LED license plate bulbs -brighter and way cooler than oem
-Add an EZ-lip front spoiler trim to size, peel and stick, no drilling required and looks amazing

Hope you found this helpful, good luck on your projects!

I dig the color. Needs black 18' or 19' wheels though. :)

Agree, working on it. Has 17 oems now, I would do 19" Fuchs look a likes in gloss black in staggered config! Need to save up first, thanks.

Looks cool nice work. What did you use for the stick on front spoiler piece?

I use the EZ-Lip front spoiler, it comes in a roll and long enough for the whole front. You can trim it anyway you want like I did for that aggressive look. Simple peel and stick 3M taped that comes with the product. No drilling needed.

Nice work! Which DRL's did you use. Most that I see just look cheap. Those look pretty decent from the pictures. You could do the plastic dip on your current wheels until you can afford the new wheels. I agree that black would make a big difference.

I picked up a quality (White High Power 5-LED DRL Daytime Running Lights Porsche Saab Cayman Boxster), do a search on ebay, you'll see it.

btw, thanks for the tip on PlastiDip, I picked up 4 cans from HomeDepot and will try it on my rims to see if I like the look. Seems to be very easy to apply and easy to peel off if you don't like the results.

cheers

Thanks for the info. Post some pics when you are done. Several others on here have tried the plastiDip with good results. Cheap and easy to see if you like it.

Today, I added PlastiDip and yellow caliper paint. It turned out better than I expected and this thing can be peeled right off. Here are some pics, still have PORSCHE brake decals to put on when the paint has totally cured.

Looks great! Clean and understated!

I really like the mesh you put on the rear bumper diffuser. Can you post some close up pics from the underside of the bumper so I can see how you installed that? Was just thinking of doing that to my car.
