My Lowered 987
I really like the look. I'll have to drive it a little more to evaluate change in handling.

Great looking car G. How much did you lower it ? What springs did you go with? Any noticiable handling changes?

Thanks. I used H&R brand springs. It lowered it aprox. 30mm. The car rides tighter and more rigid. Haven't really drove it to the limit yet. |

Your whip looks schweeeeet! |
Nice ride, I think it's time for some DEEP dish 19's or may I say............20's?
Ooops I said 20's on a Porsche......is that Sacreligious????? KRZ |
How about any new creaks or rattles after installing the springs?

No squeeks or rattles... I'm very happy with the results... :D

Just proves that the std set up is too high - the clearance in the arches looks about right to me.
But US cars run higher than UK anyway - due to height of the front bumper in pedestrian safety tests ?? |
looks nice
from an aesthetics point of view, I really do prefer the look of the US Boxster better after lowering to some degree. It's actually kind of amazing that even after taking 30mm off that 987, it still really doesn't look that low...though pics can be deceiving sometimes.

I just picked up my 987 yesterday.... Planning to lower her after my break-in period is done....
Looks like I'm going with H&R's as well.... who did the install for you? Dealer? Yourself? Tuner shop? or....? I looked at http://www.hrsprings.com and it looks like their own site is still listing the same part number for 2004's and 2005's.... is that right? Because I looked at http://www.turnermotorsport.com/html/detail.asp?product_id=29168-1&shipType=7&shippingZip=32835&GO=GO and it lists a different part number and an exclusive setup for 987's.... Can you confirm your part number for all of us? Thanks much! J.J. |
