Well guess what?? I just got an email from Jay at 8am THIS morning telling me the car will not be ready! I did not hear from him yesterday as he said if there were any problems he would contact me then. So I just lost a day of work and will have to lose another when and IF the car is ever done! He asked me the best # to call me to go over some things. As soon as I get the call IF I get a call, I'll let everyone know what other excuse he has for me!
It's not so much the length of time it's taking but the fact of them being in business as long as they have and not knowing when a project will be done. Like I said before I've owned a performance shop for 8 years and if I told a customer that their car would be ready at a certain date, it would have been even if I had to work till 2 in the morning every day to get it ready! I guess my word and level of professionalism is a good bit high then theirs! |

you seem to be the only one surprised by this. :) with shops like this, i find the ones that do the best work & i accept the fact that their ability to schedule jobs & communicate to my liking will be severely compromised. these guys do GREAT work. the industry sucks at customer service. relax. don't schedule another day off until they call you to come get the car. |

I had dropped my Box off at a shop with good standings and they quoted me three days +/- 2 to place and paint my body kit of front bumper rear deck lid and spoiler along with side skirts. Called me to pick up on the third day as promised and the work and fit was crap, had to have them go back over a few time to make it "almost" right. They did not even do a pre-fit before painting! Count your blessings that they are taking their time it will pay off in the end. |
Well after not getting a call from Jay at 10 I called and asked to talk to him. He was with a customer so I asked to talk to his manager.
They gave me Adam. I explained the problem to him and he told me he would look into it and that he did know of the problems they were having with the car but did not realize Jay had let it go this far. He called me back in about 30-45 minutes and he explained to me that what the problem was was not in the fit of the kit but when they sprayed the kit it had little pin holes in it. So they were having to go back over it to fill the holes and re primer. He also told me that if it would have been him he would not have told me it would have been ready unless he had looked at the finished product. Adam said he would be handling it and that it WOULD be painted today for sure! He also said that after it was done we could work out something about getting it to me without me having to take more time off work. :) All this sounds good. Let me clear something up, I do not mind the time it takes to do the kit as I explained to Adam. What I do mind is the fact I was told 2 times that it would be ready on Friday and taking the time off work, and it was not. In Jays defense Adam told me that he left Thursday and it was supposed to have been painted when he came back into work. Which I understand but that does not excuse his assumption that it would be ready. He should not have given me a pick up time if he even had an idea it would not be ready. He had all day Thursday to call or send and email to inform me that it might not have been. Adam told me that he would call me Monday as soon as he could to up date me on the car. He also told me the pinholes were in the quote as prep so they would not be charging me for that. I don't mind waiting as long as I know whats going on and when given a time and day to pick it up it's ready to be picked up. |
the pin holes are from a poorly prepared surface; usually it's silicone contamination. even if there were pin holes in the composite surface itself, the primer would have covered them up.

I have a buddy that lives in Michigan that owns a body shop. I called him and he told me the same thing. As Adam told me at Magnum they were not charging me for this so I'm just gonna wait and see how it goes with Adam in charge of it all. Keeping my fingers crossed!!! |
Got a call from Jay!! He told me the car is ready to go!! So baring and flooding or BAD thunder storms I'm gonna be heading down first thing in the morning to pick it up!!

Alright here she is!! I'm very pleased with the job Magnum did! They are most definitely craftsmen!! :)
I will try and get some more pictures up as soon as I get a chance. I've got to get the coil overs on so I can give it a little lower stance! http://a3.l3-images.myspacecdn.com/i...7ebf74a6/l.jpg http://a4.l3-images.myspacecdn.com/i...adf2acf7/l.jpg |

I'm glad it was worth the wait. Treat her right :)

Very nice job. Now try to get some clear headlights. The gold mesh wheels look good too. Nice total concept and one of the few kits that I think enhance the basic cars look. Party ON!
AKL  |

Not to many straight roads down here to get up to anything near fast but the curvy mountain roads sure do make up for it!! Heck, I might just drive to the Dragon in the morning!! ;) So Danger, does this mean I can join the "Agency" now?? |
