My first boxster

Hello everyone, after sellling my S2000 few years back, I've always had an itch for another fun to drive roadster that I could enjoy around town as well as nasa events when time allows.. after selling my evo8, and in the market for fun toy, I ran across this one at local lot... it's 2000 2.7 tiptronic (i know i know..) with 16.5 original miles..bone stock! well I just happen to have set of BBS motorsports 18x9,18x10 E28 center magnesium/aluminum wheel that I was saving for my 928...and my buddy that owns exhaust shop fabbed up a bolt on exhaust for me. glad to be part of the forum! looking forward to meeting many of you and thanks in advance for helping me with my new project!

Welcome to the forum! Looking forward to how your project unfolds...

Curious, what are the offsets on your BBS wheels, and what size/width tires are you running?

Thanks! I haven't got a slightest clue on the offset of the wheels as they are made per order and I"m not the original owner of the wheels.. they are 18x9 front running 225/40/18 and rear 18x10 running 265/35/18 rear. they have slight stretch on the tires. I did have to use 5mm spacer in the rear because inside tire was rubbing against the strut body. I just purchased springs on the forum, once I install them and have the stance right, i'll take some verticle side profile to show you how the wheels sits relative to the bodyline.

If you lower it much, those rims and tires will probably rub again.

It's a really tight fit back there.

Hey, no need to apologize for your 2.7 Tip. I have one and LOVE it. Won't get up to speed as fast as others but once you are there you will love carving corners. Keep us posted and welcome.

AKL

Thanks for the warm welcome guys! I purchased set of used H&R springs from board member and installed them today, I swear it's more then 1" drop! looks great and now it turns in much sharper. but... I think I need to shave the bump stops as I have very little to no suspension travle lol... the rear install was little bit more involved then I expected but not bad at all.. front took maybe 30 per corner tops. I will post some photos soon!
