Green Boxster Upgrades

I have just bought an green '01 boxster non-S and I am looking for photos of upgrades and also recommended upgrades. I have not seen many photos of green boxsters let alone upgrades to them. They seem like a rare color and I am not sure what certain upgrades would look like on them so it would be nice to see photos of upgrades others have done on their green monsters :D

Green boxster... do you mean one with an electric motor in it? :D

Depends on how or which green your car is? Mine is pretty green and I went for some black details to contrast. But green does not seem that popular in P world :D

WOW Christian H, those are some fancy matching wheels. The one I bought is a dark green color and somehow I don't think that matching wheels would like as "matching" as your light green ones do with your car. Thanks a lot for the post and you seem to be right about green not being common/popular in the P world. Perhaps I can attribute that to the low price I purchased mine for. I would rather think that than think that it's because of a fault with the car, heaven forbid!! Cheers :D

actually i think porsches look striking in green i would say boxsters dont look as good in green.

kyleturner2020 03-31-2010 07:08 AM

Wow, that light green has a good, unique look! I don't think I could pull it off but that is a great looking Porsche! Definetely a head turner!

Christian, you should get 'MINT CHIP' license plates.

If I had a dark green car I would have probably done something like this I know its a Lotus in classic Lotus colours but so what!

:D

That is a great looking color scheme on that lotus and that looks like the same color green that my car is but I don't think I could pull something like that off. I don't have that kind of 'style'. I like the yellow wheels but only because they work with the other yellow on the car, just by themselves would look silly. I think I am going to just go with straight black wheels on dark green paint.

Haha! the Lotus colour scheme was meant to be a bit tongue in cheek
But dark green with black wheels should look classy, be nice to see some pics when you're done.

That's a good lookin backside! :D I like that the windscreen is nearly invisible when looking at it. Do you find that you have trouble with no mesh behind the seats?

roadracer311 04-01-2010 09:48 PM

I added the mesh shortly after that photo was taken. Bought them, used, from a 986forum member. I don't remember them making a big difference. I mostly just like the way they look.

I like green Boxsters, though mine is black. Here is a friend's Rufster in Viper Green...paint to sample and the only one Ruf has built in that color.

Christian H 04-06-2010 03:35 AM

Wow jmatta!
Now that is a striking looking car, I think boxsters look great in green! :D

I hope you're right because I bought mine site unseen and will pick it up at the end of the month.

Nice color roadracer :)

When I bought my 2003 Boxster from a local dealer he told me that he's never seen this color on a Boxster before. It's rare, I think it's called Forest Green.

roadracer311 04-13-2010 08:01 AM

Not forest green, but "Dark teal metallic", same as my 2003 Boxster S. I've only ever seen one other Porsche in person that was this color and it was a 996 not a Boxster. Rare color indeed.

mypctechs 04-13-2010 08:42 AM

Roadracer, your signature says you're located in San Francisco.

My wife and I are taking a road trip to San Francisco some time early this year. However small the chance, you may see another Boxster in that color in person soon. Most likely blowing down Highway 1. :)
