Looks cheap and out of place IMO. But to each his own.

It's really difficult to make out the details in that photo. I love how the website has dash kits for the Porsche Cayonne.

Valor 11-28-2009 09:36 PM

The carbon fibre ones looks more promising IMO

Boxtaboy 11-29-2009 06:18 AM

Wow. Stick on dash strips? Sorry, but that is pretty scary lookin. :D

GPReyes 11-29-2009 09:02 AM

when i first got my boxster i was seriously annoyed at the scratches on the center console... and how it was so easy to nick the plastic... even the seat belt fasteners would rub up against the side near the seat bottom and scratch the console...

didn't wanna spend for a 400 dollar center console ... so i had an interior/leather seat specialist paint it alum... and included the dash.. also stuck some carbon fiber sticker on the door panel cubby cover... love the look and now it's a bit more scratch proof

+1 on the kit, looks tacky. I will (already have) take my chances with a rattle can, specially since most of those pieces are removable.
Those seats do look great. Was alcantara seat inserts ever a factory option?

GPReyes 11-29-2009 11:38 PM

my alcantara seats came straight from factory... mightve been an option in asia...love em too

al? you mean my kit looks tacky?

oh btw... the removal... sanding and painting of the alum parts cost me about 120 dollars very very happy with how it turned out

i think he is reffering to the OP

Wingnut2u 12-01-2009 04:56 AM

...thanks so much...what a snobish stabber...

...and...yes, it does belong in a Porsche and many other happy Boxster owners...

Shoot your pictures in the day time

A flash always makes pictures look awful. During daylight, the car is flooded with light so your camera will adjust and take a better picture...or did you use your cell phone.
Anyway, I think its a nice touch. Remember, there is nothing wrong making your Porsche yours. JB

Thanks for advice buddy...will do...

...also, next picture will include huge cattle horns screwed on top hood...so as to please some around here... :D

Mike

not a fan of the kit either... but you're right... harsh words like that have no class... respect other people's taste... we all have earned the right to have our cars.. and what we do with them is our choice.

keep moddin

I think the longhorns would be a nice touch!

Please except my apologies as my comments were out of line.

I will tone my rhetoric down. When I first read the post I thought captqbec, with a single digit post count, was trying to inappropriately sell the dash kits on here as a non-authorized vendor and I reacted harshly. As most people who have a single digit post count and then post a "hey look at my.." along with a link to sales website is usually being done with an ulterior motive to sell a product.

That sounds like a sales job to me, but then again I could be wrong.

Take this with a grain of salt. I still do not think that it looks that good, especially the cup holders and the pieces around the radio. They silver also tends to fade especially when exposed to sunlight, so don't be surprised if it starts to yellow a little bit. The good things is if you like it then that is great, if for some reason you change your mind later, it is reversible and your out of pocket expense will not be that painful.

I have no problem with people trying to make a car unique and their own. None of my cars look stock and all have been modded. Some of my mods worked, some of them didn't.

Enjoy your car and make it your own

btw the new picture you edited and posted in your first post is much better quality than the original and gives a clearer picture of the product.

Thanks, I have a wife, 3 kids, a Boxster and a Miata, I don't think the wife would appreciate it if I got a girlfriend though.

You would like the Miata it is not a stock Miata, it has a racing E Production fiberglass widebody kit, supercharged and will outperform the Boxster on the track

Again I apologize for my previous out of line comments

Sorry, I'm not feeling it. But, hey it's your car, do as you wish.

al83s 12-07-2009 07:39 PM

I meant the glue-on kit.
But its true, its his car and he can do whatever he wants with it.
