I did a bit more to my interior last week!
 

After painting some of my interior trim a while ago I have been itching to do some more!

So when I had my car off the road for a month I thought it an ideal time to give it a go, and add a bit of alcantara too!

Car to post pics of the rest of the car? Is your temp adjustment panel OEM?

Thanks Blinkwatt, the temp panel is OEM, my car was ordered new without aircon The first owner probably thought it wouldn't be needed in the UK!
Must have been before global warming.

Great job on the interior. I really like the alcantara touches. Did you add any padding under the arm rest? The painted pieces looks great as well....really set of such a rare color.

Wow. I still don’t know how you guys drive like that (LEFT side of the road). We were in England a few years ago, and I remember being on a bus at one point, doing some twisty turny back roads. Drove me crazy, at least for awhile…every time we’d enter into a curve (on the wrong side of the road!), I’d feel myself bracing for impact with that yet-unseen oncoming vehicle. Amazingly---no collision ever occurred! (We’d pass that oncoming vehicle and, fortunately for everybody, HE was on the wrong side of the road too!)

On top of all that, shifting with my left hand would feel really bizarre as well.

I guess if I lived there I’d get used to it…eventually.

When I removed the old leather from the centre arm rest it had a thin foam type covering so I left it in place and glued the alcantara over the top,
with regards the door pocket tops I put it directly on top of the plastic I thought that adding any padding would make them a bit too "chunky" and interfere with the lid opening.
The painted pieces may be a little bright for some tastes but I prefer it to the poverty spec plastic!

Thats how I feel when I drive on the right hand side of the road when in the rest of Europe!

Maybe it's what I'm used to but shifting gear with my left hand seems pretty natural,

I'm right handed so thats the hand I like to keep on the part of my car that stops me from hitting stuff! ;)
