New Member-New Boxster: '01 S Speed Yellow

New to Boxsters, but not Porsches. i've had an '88 928 S4 for about 10 years and just got the Boxster for a DD (was an '01 325i).

PSM, full leather, painted interior...

more for the color than the car

a couple other guys in our local 928 group have Boxsters...

You realize you'll never make enough in cab fares driving that car due to the lack of back seats and no luggage room to speak of, right? :D

All kidding about the color aside, that's a beautiful example of a Boxster. Very clean.

So tell us about the 928... just how much work have you had to do to keep it running?

My indy mechanic said that if he opened a 928 repair shop, he'd become a very wealthy man overnight.

keep it running? no more than any other car. tune-ups, tires, brakes. i've painted the intake and valve covers, put 997 wheels on it, run an x-pipe in place of the cats.

no huge failures. the biggest problem when there is a problem is access. the engine bay is very tight. WYIT (while you're in there) part replacements are big thing on 928's. most owners do their own work.
