What's the location? The farm fields look like original home in central Ohio.

i was surprised myself that this area looked anything like the usual flat cornfields of illinois..but it is between the town of elizabeth and galena.

Galena is really a beautiful area. I've been there a few times with my motorcycle buddies when I used to live in Wisconsin. There are some really seedy strip clubs just up the road in East Dubuque too.... for a change of scenery. :p

I was just cruising along the Great River Road this last week while I was visiting a place in Iowa along the Mississippi. Everything where I live in northern California is burnt brown now from the 114 degree heat. So it was nice to see the beautiful green landscape in this part of the U.S. Thanks for the pics!

If by referring to your "bride" you mean that you were recently married, congrats on the nuptials. Well, congrats on the nuptials anyway, even if you have been married a while.

There’s nothing like a top-down drive through the country with the wife...

manaco986 08-20-2008 11:07 AM

been married 16yrs

this was our time..with the ride...and minus kids.cats and dogs.....left them at the inlaws. it was fun and i highly recommend the drive...very picturesque landscape to drive thru. thanks for the reply doc.

When we got the youngest (of two, thankfully!) out of college, I was torn between going back to playing with the avatar (in the southeast heat) or buying a box to cruise trips with the wifey of 34 years. Look below for my answer! :D

Why not both?

manaco986, the next time you are in that area, you need to drive Wisconsin Hwy K north out of a little town called Gratiot. Awesome!
