xxxboxster, beautiful car man. What is that, an 03 or 04 S? I see you have the Gt3 setup like stryke. Anyway, I wan't to put lowering springs on my S and I see that yours is lowered. I think it looks much better lowered and I was wondering how much you dropped it? It looks like a 2 in drop, but I'm not sure. If you don't mind, what is the brand of spring you used and how much were they? There are springs in tweeks called Weltmeister(?) and they drop it about 1 inch which is about perfect for my needs. The price is right too, and that's always nice. Anyone have any experiece/knowledge about these springs in tweeks? One more thing, how bad have you bottomed out or scraped? I assume you have to take alot of care to keep from scraping. Miller, nice ass pics as well, how much is yours lowered? What brand of springs?

XXXboxsterXXX 04-01-2004 03:33 PM

hey Adam, thanks for the common !! :D
my car is a 03, is lower with sparco spring (the brand that sells seat and stuff) , in fact I do have another set if you want, it was suppose for my friend but he don't want it after he bought it. drop me a email if you need one.

Thanks for the offer, but I'm concerned that the springs may lower my ride to much. I only wanna drop it about an inch. From the looks of it I would say your car is lowered about 2 in, but I could be wrong. How much do the springs lower the car? I'm afraid that would serverly limit my driving to smooth flat roads only. Do you have scraping probs? Did you remove the plastic stone guard in front of the front tires? I looked at them awhile back and they are only 3-4inches off the ground now with the stock setup. I assume you must remove them to prevent them from scraped off? I'm also concerned about the ride quality. I could handle stiffer springs than what's stock, but I don't want a bone jarring teeth rattling ride on every road that doesn't resemble the autobahn. How is the ride? Much stiffer than stock?

XXXboxsterXXX 04-01-2004 05:16 PM

it rides ok... no much different than stock.. but I change it right after I have the car... like 2 days max.. so I don't recall how's the stock ride...
and regarding the stock mud guard, I have it removed because of the side skirt. I would say it lower about 2"
but I don't think you going like it with only 1" lower, there is not much different ... 2" drop looks prefect with 18" wheels on..

Nice ride! I almost painted the targa I rebuilt/restored/modified in gray. The painter had Gran Prix white on hand and gave me a deal. Did Kenisis do the wheel painting? Adam, I put Weltmeister sways front/rear on the targa. Handles nice.

Adam 04-01-2004 06:10 PM

xxxboxster, how bad do you scrape slopes/uneven roads/driveways in that thing?? Umm, also, xxx, I did a google search on "sparco springs" and all I got was hood springs. Are you sure your springs are made by spaco? Has anyone else heard of sparco lowering springs? Thanks for the help PF.

jfmillr 04-01-2004 08:07 PM

hey,
i put bilstein coil-over adjustable racing shocks and springs and titanium strut bars, front and rear. handles great. takes hairpins like MaD!
i think mine lowered about 2-2.5 inches in the end. I am really careful so havent scratched anything. Just gotta pull into parking lots and driveways at an angle :)

XXXboxsterXXX 04-02-2004 09:36 AM

Adam.. yeah they're sparco, they use to sell lowering springs for some cars.... most of the model is not in the US.
just drop me an emial if you have other question

Can I ask why? I am looking for a silver ext. and I want to make the right choice. Is is because the lighter cars show dirt more quickly?

I have a black one and althought its a TWAT to clean, its all worth it on a red hot summers day when my black boxster is so shinny you can go blind... mind red or white is my next color....

My last 5 cars (not including the beaters) have been black. It doesn't get any better than a shiny black car during sundown. Unfortunately, the only pics I have so far is during the day. Can't wait to try out my new camera when the weather clears up.
