New pictures of the Boxster
After seeing all the classy pictures you guys take of your cars I have decided to start playing around with settings on the cameras and daylight.
These where taken at dusk with a very long exposure. I know I should move the trash can, I'll get that next time. |
Another picture---large files
Here is another picture this time I really went for an different angle.
|
Side angle--Large file
Another picture but this time a more traditional (unimaginative) angle.
|
I decided to add another picture
|
Very Nice. I especially like that first shot. That thing positively GLEAMS.
Any idea how long the exposure was? And what's that supernova in the center front? Reflection of the last traces of sun light? (I'm thinkin' it's not a flash.) |

looks good dooode, i like it |
As DJOMLAS said they are extra foglights. You can see them in this picture. The lights are mounted behind the mesh screen in the center of the bumper.
The lights are pencil beams, they have a very narrow beam and are very bright. They lights are aimed in such a way that the lights reflect off of signs and other road markings far into the distance. And they do not blind drivers. I use them on unlit and empty interstates and back country roads. The lights are wired into a footwell switch mounted to the left of the radio, it looks OEM. The exposure was set at 2.5 seconds. and sitting on a stool, (tripod needed) |
DJ,
What are S S cutouts?? Anything to do with your muffler?? |
haha, well SS for short shifter, and cutouts as exhaust cutouts.
i typed all that on my blackberry, so it looks goofy. |
Do you have electronic cutouts or manual?
|
Looks awesome man, try using a cheap tripod and either the timer or a remote control shutter for long exposure shots like this, get them crystal clear.
Anyhow, can you please post a daytime close up of your extra lights, they look very cool. |
Your car is looking sweet, its unbelievable to think its done 150,000, what a car.
More pics please :) |
Lookin' great man. Will you et me the infor on the side intakes please.

The side intake info: http://www.kokeln.com/boxter98697-03_pg2.php I love the look of the intakes on the car. They are very easy to install, all that has to be done is just remove the intake that is there already and replace the current outside vent with this new one. Thanks for the compliments. Gary |

Another picture |
I will get a few new pictures this weekend, I need to post some with the top down.
|
looks cool man.
i like the intakes on the side, but im concerned about the passenger side, its meant for the warm air to leave the engine bay, and while you are driving, isnt it just pushing it all back in? btw, the cutouts are manual, only used for autoX and sometimes wheni just wanna mess around a little. |
Nice alloy wheels! What are they?
|
The wheels are Alt 349
http://www.altwheels.com/products/category.php?id=1&pg=2 As far as the heat from the passenger intake: the temputure of the engine has stayed the same as before and after the mod. I am not positive that at 60 mph the original design was able to withdraw heat unless there was some sort of pressure drop because of the design. So in other words I have noticed anything detrimental while these have been installed. They are purely cosmetic. DJ, Do you have a sound file or movie of your cutouts open?? |
