Finally Pictures of my NEW rims!
Well the weather finally cleared up well enough for me to get a few shots of my new rims with the right size tires on the front. After a few arguments with discount tires they finally ordered the tires I wanted for the front of my car. 235/40-18s. The stock tires were just not wide enough for the new after market rims which are 18x8.5. When they were mounted to the stock 225/40s they were .25 inches short on both the inside and out side of the rim! You can imagine how stupid it looked. Even after the new 235s were mounted I could tell that I could have even gone to a 245 width. But these will do for now. The wider you go the more money it costs. My rears are 275/35-18s. I had the rims powder coated to match the color of my car. Metallic Seal Grey. Anyway, here are some new pictures, now all I need to do is paint my brake calipers red.

You have one of the nicest Boxsters I have seen here or on the road. I never noticed though that you didnt have the calipers painted. Red is really going to pop out and match great with the 55o stripes.

Very nice, man. They really look great in seal gray. They pull the whole look together.

Sweet Wheels! Matches the car nicely.
I think if you threw on some 5mm spacer on the rear only it would really look good. It would give the car a much wider looking stance. |
986,
Looks great ! A lot better then the black wheels IMHO... Nick |

Holy hotness man, your car looks really nice.

Very nice, Porsche986spyder! How much was the powder coating? Did they take the wheel apart for the coating? Thanks.
|
Bravo!
Very nice and tastefully done. I usually don't like a lot of the "add ons" that I have seen but your rendition is quite handsome. I could see myself driving your car with a large permagrin, but then what would I do with mine?

...to echo TriGem...they do work really well with the car. Good choice.

The wheels look great!
I've always wondered what it would be like to remove all of the fasteners on a set of wheels like yours. What is the torque spec just out of curiosity? Thanks, ddb |

nice. One of the finest 986's on the forum. Those stripes look good on your car, havent been a fan of them on other cars. They tie in your LEDs. That lip is phat, just keep it polished

Could you PM me the contact info from the seller you bought them from?
(Your PM box is full) |
Sorry if I am a bit ignorant, seems like everyone except me knows what make and model these rims are except me. LOL. Anyone care to let me know?
Would be great if these rims were light weight too. I like black ( car is black ) and would probably get a set in matte black or gun metal .. i think that with the fat chrome lips, should look very nice. Very nice car btw. |

Nice job. I probably would have never picked out those wheels myself. But seeing them on your car they look great!! As far as the calipers, I sent mine out last year and had them painted red by a company in NJ called PowerTech. they did an awesome job. But I have to tell you, I almost wish I had them painted yellow instead. Just a thought in case you were considering it too.
