Turbo frontend conversion complete *pics*
 

They aren't the greatest pics, they were taken on my phone. I'll get better pics later. Also had the bumperettes painted and debadged the rear while it was in there. In the next couple weeks I'm going to have the wheels powder coated flat black and do the techart style rings on the lip. I have also ordered clear/red tail lights and clear bumper lights, should be here end of this week.

The car is actually Speed Yellow even though it looks pastel in the pics.

Looks good, what was the final cost. You need sideskirts... Seriously.

sideskirts and rear diffuser are coming soon. I don't want to buy cheap ebay stuff though. I like the aero kit sideskirts. It cost way too much for the front end all said and done but, it's one of a kind and the only one in town. I've never seen it done with the Turbo bumper.

If I had known originally exactly how much it would cost, I probably wouldn't have done it in the first place. It does look amazing though and I love it!

Now you really, REALLY need to deamber. It's cheap too.

don't feel too bad on the expense, if you decide to sell your Boxster it will go quickly. That's good nowadays because there are a glut of good Boxsters for sale and every little mod counts to raise interest.

P.S.
I recently detailed my friend's yellow 911 and we used a cheap spray wax by Duragloss called Aquawax. Best result I have ever seen on yellow. Looks dripping wet. Yet it's only $8!! :cheers:

Once it dried I used FK1 425 spray to ward off the pollen and dust that finishing sprays often attract.

Looks great! I still say a cheaper way to go would have been to keep the stock headlights and only replace the front bumper. But replacing the side fenders and headlights to make the factory turbo bumper work on your boxster came out great. Very nice if you can afford it. :cheers:

haha, they were telling me "now all you need to do is widen the rear end a little bit". I decided to stop here. side skirts and either the stock rear diffuser or the Gemballa rear bumper and that will be it for the body.

Yes, you are correct porsche986spyder, the more cost effective way would be to just buy that fiberglass bumper that fits with the stock lights. Like I said before, had I known it would cost as much as is it did, I probably would've just left it alone but, I'm more than pleased with the final outcome. It looks amazing and I've gotten several compliments from Boxster owners in my area. Alot of them just have this crazy look on their face and then they realize it's a Boxster, from the front it really does look like a Turbo Cab. :cool:

I'm going to make good use of the bumper and fenders that came off of it. I'm making a chair for my living room out of them! I've been mapping out the frame lately as this idea has been in the works for years and I've got a 911 bumper and fenders in my attic that will be used on the first one. I'm going to make the frame out of aluminum and have an exposed back, might look kind of cool.

The turbo front end sold by other places is the ONLY one that is Urethane, not Fiberglass. Just in case anyone else out there wanted to persue this route. Your car looks awsome! ;)

Did you ever see this kit? It's a wide body, but only looks like the rear. I hate the front bumper on this thing, too many ins-n-outs on it. All carved up with vents and grooves. But the rear section looks sweet. Just an idea for a wide body if you are looking for one, djomlas.

I've never been a fan of changing bumpers, adding side skirts etc, but I must say yours looks amazing! It doesn't look added on or aftermarket. Great job, congrats on getting it finished.

yellowboxster01, You didn't go the xenon route?

It looks sharp. I avoided the turbo bumper because of the fact that it definitely requires skirting. The turbo bumper is far more aggressive than my standard Carrera bumper. Maybe that's why I don't notice many people giving my car crazy looks.

Now get some real pix so we can see some detail!

Nope, if you guys would look at the links I post with the images, you will see that it's a wide body RS kit under the BOXSTER body kit section on the that web link. ;)

At any rate, that picture looks plasticy & terrible. I would suggest they use a higher quality photo, but I don't think that will help. I'm not a fan of that kit!

I only posted it because "djolmas" wanted to see a WIDE BODY kit on our cars. I too hate the front end. The rear is kind of cool. It's a low res image, so it looks crappy. ;)

techart makes a widebody that's much more tasteful.

Jeph, I decided to go with halogens because they were more than half the price less than xenons. If I really want xenons later I'll just buy that kit. I didn't think it was worth the extra $1300. I've never been spoiled by xenons so, I don't know what I'm missing.:lol:

Skirting is a must now but, that little plastic lip on the bumper is nice. I took a driveway the other night not angled enough and scraped. When I looked at the damage it just scraped the bottom of that plastic piece, no paint.:cool:
