Convertible top light will not go off?

I have a 2000 base 80k When I bought the car it did not have the convertible connecting rods or clam shell rods. After installing a new top it would open a close turning the light off with clam shell...

I did remove the seat because of the immobilizer....

I did remove the seat because of the immobilizer. You might try loosening the rear bolts and remove the front ones and pry something to hold it up. Let us know.
