Simple Green followed up by a pressure washer.
It came out really well.

Source an OE pulley and install it for the IMSR procedure and put your aftermarket unit back on when done.

If youíre not sure of the vehicleís service history, you might also consider replacing the fuel filter as well.

The early 5 chain cars can be noisier, though itís typically chain tensioners that are the source of the noise...

Had this problem too...

and soaked the gasket in very warm water for 5 minutes before trying to stretch it around the crest.
The gasket became pliable enough to hold position on the crest while installing on the hood.
