I've had the car since 2013. The remote has never worked. The led lights when you press the button, but does not operate the locks or alarm. I have tried every fix that's posted here. No dice.

I would strongly suggest taking the car to Chapman Auto Werks in Sterling VA. Porsches are all he does, and he does them well. They are very versed in M96 engines. He did an excellent job on my car.

I had mine engine replaced several months ago. The original engine jumped timing and had broken valves and damage to cylinder 2. The core return ranged from $2500 to $0. I got 2k.

Forgot to say what was wrong with the M96s. 2 failed IMS's, one slipped sleeve, and one that had over heated so badly that the seats dropped out of the heads.
