I couldn’t get mine to work using a battery...

I couldn’t get mine to work using a battery charger on the boost setting. Used jumper cables from a running car and that did the trick

Keep going. Where does the switched 12 volts go from the switch? Keep following that 12 volts until it stops and that’s where your problem is

Sounds like you have a multimeter. Start tracing voltage from the battery and move down the circuit path until you no longer have voltage.

Do you have 12.9v to ground at the line side of the kill...

Have a safe and fun drive. I did a similar one (Baton Rouge to Wilmington NC) many years ago when I bought a ‘97 Mercedes E300 with 380,000 miles on odo and drove it back home. Had a great time!

My 2000S gets terrible mileage. Turns out the nut connecting the steering wheel to the seat has a leadfoot.

Both mine need replacing as well. I have them...

If I remember correctly, they’re about 260 bucks per side from Porsche

If I get a chance, I will hook up my Durametric pro and see if it gives me option to calibrate fuel gauge.

I'm crazy busy lately, so it will be a few days if I get that chance.
