Changing the clutch is a ********************, you have to unmount the tranny, and I believe for the clutch you have to attach the engine to a crane thru the clamshell and disconnect it from the engine mounts so...

Correction, it idles at 650 when it's warmed up. 900 sounds quite high for a warm idle.

The 10 is absolutely boring LA to Texas. I recommend at least taking the I-40 for that leg, it only adds maybe a couple hours to the overall trip, but the scenery is so much better.
