I was just wondering. I destroyed the old speakers to use the rings to hold the Focals so I always knew they would be staying with the car when I sell it. The tabs didn't hold out much opposition...

Why are you against cutting the tabs off? I sliced mine off and bonded the speakers to the ring with black silicone, really easy. Not as if you can see anything when it's back in the dash.
