Clutch fork ball joint play?
I'm in the middle of replacing the clutch on my '02 S. I have found that the car already has the later style clutch fork that forgoes the plastic clip (the fork is 996 116 712 05). My question...

Does the engine run better when the MAF is disconnected? If so you could have a failing MAF. It sounds like you should chase down an intake leak, though. I recommend that you pick up a smoke machine...

LN is selling the version for the 5 chain separately from their IMS kit? I see that they sell the 3 chain version separately, which engages slots in both intake and exhaust cams, but not the 5 chain...

Thanks for the replies everyone. Coincidentally I picked up that version of timing kit from eBay too, Homeoboxter, because I'm changing the variocam pads. However I plan to do that job with the...

I’ve looked on both and unfortunately the only kits that have the blade style lock is for the 3 chain engines. Any of the kits for the 5 chain engines use the jig style tool.

Where to buy 5 chain cam locking tool
I’d like to inspect my chain tensioners to chase a rattle I’m hearing at startup. Is there a place to get just the cam locking tool for 5 chain engines? The 3 chain tool is much more popular for some...

Is anybody else's spec air mass and spec air adaption off? I'm wondering if it's just one of those things that's never to that baseline and not a big deal.

"Spec. air mass" and "Spec. air adaption"
In the service manual, in addition to the mass air flow specification, there is "Spec. air mass" and "Spec. air adaption." The mass air flow spec is 15 kg/h and the spec. air mass figure is pretty...

I had a thought. Though the car went over the pothole on the right side, the left side numbers were thrown off too, which could suggest that the subframe shifted? (I suppose that's best case...

Hit a bad pothole. Have alignment numbers. What's bent?
I hit a *very* bad pothole on the right side of the car which bent the front right and rear wheel. They are fixed and the car no longer shudders.
I took the car to an alignment shop and got an...

Glad I'm not the only one, Radman!
I examined the sway bar bushings and links and with a pry bar I've not detected any play. How can I examine the rear struts? Which part of it would cause a clunk?

New trailing arms didn't fix rear clunk
I have a new to me '99 Boxster. 85k miles. The car is clunking in the rear at low speed over bumps. Reading old forum posts, it looked to be a classic symptom of worn trailing arms. I've now...
