FWIW, that noise almost entirely went away for me after switching from Mobil 1 0w40 to Joe Gibbs DT40. Which could easily be a coincidence.

This is very impressive! I'm usually in the upper 20s in my 2.5. Strangely, highway vs city doesn't seem to make a huge difference for me, nor does driving at high RPMs for longer periods of time....
