Bose are fine and it's nice to have sound from the back. The 986/987 aren't designed for SPL competitions anyway.

I sold my 2001 S for a '03 M3 Cabriolet. The 986 was very clean and low mileage but I needed the back seats and this was the best compromise. Funny but they all have their issues that need sorting...
