My dad is a mechanic but he needs some workshop manual documentation just to make sure we are going to do it ok.

Is this a death wish or should i just cough up the cash to the dealer?

Total cost: $500 for the pump and $50 for a tow to the mechanic.

The (stealership) said over 1k to fix so im DIY'ing. Save over $500 which is good.

Yeah i have a minor leak also. Dont worry about it. No damage will be done. You don't need to have it fixed but if you really want to then good luck getting them to replace it for nothing.
