Well, mine doesn't rub because the throttle is where is was stock. No above the starter solenoid wich makes it too high.

you can not reuse the stock intake tube if you go to a bigger throttle body.

To me, it's not worth it.
Though if you really want to I'm able to make the spacers to fit the 996 intake on to the 986 heads....
