Please excuse my ignorance on the matter, but...

Please excuse my ignorance on the matter, but what is the purpose of a battery vent? None of my other cars required it. Is it important? Because I don't think I have the extension hose connector.

Great, so the spoiler is ok :-) I did replace the battery, but no luck. Just means the redlight on the key remains lit continually
