There is probably a crack on the top of the gas sending unit. I had the same problem and smelled gas after fill up and parking. Common problem on the Boxster.

Do you smell raw fuel? If so, it's probably a cracked at the top of the fuel tank. I forgot what it was called, but I had the same code and had it replaced and fixed all my problems.

That's a great deal. I have a 2003 that is in mechanically perfect condition. I've owned for 5 years and have put on about 50,000 miles with no troubles at all.
