I have a 2.7 2005 same problem

Took it to the dealership numerous times , mechanics on both LA Auto Gallery and Pacific Porsche told me it's nothing to worry about, it's just the fuel injectors. 5 yrs later no problem so far.

Engine replacement

4 banger w/ forced induction from Audi on a 2011 Boxster. Would this be a cheaper and more reliable replacement on a blown engine, what do you think?

IMHO the 987 is better looking

Test drove the vette and numerous 986, waited for the 987 and I was sold.

I have a 2005 base boxster since new...

white smoke after seating for more than 2 weeks, overnight or 4 to 5 hrs later I'll get it check.

Tapping noise

Took my box at the dealer yesterday for a faint tapping noise very audible from the right side air vent. Tech said it was the fuel injectors, and its normal. I will bring it back thursday for a close...

Back in May of 2005, with HID and 18inch wheels.
Ordered through the dealer with specific instruction not to test drive it...(excluding factory testing)

Test drove it yesterday with a manual, 50 more hp and a stiffer suspension is a slight improvement. With a 10k discount I'm keeping my base 987.

I got a ticket near the Barstow area, over 100mph they could impound your car, jailed and can't clear your driving records with traffic schooling. Downhill road after Zzyzx, no cops watch out for...
