To my knowledge all of the 986 (97-04) style hardtops fit... do not think the top is any different for an S unlike the convertible one which had a liner included.

Same thing on my 2000 Boxster S... it is in "transport" mode still. The dealer will have to program it out of that mode. I guess it is for when they ship the cars over so the battery does not die on...
