According to the owner's manual, the computer automatically (knock sensor) adjusts the timing and ignition to accomodate lower octane level gas. Seems likely this would reduce performance but not...

I have owned six Porsches (own two now) and just don't understand this issue. My 1999 suits me just fine. I have driven an S and for me the extra money has never made it worth while for the switch....
