I hope to dip into the well of the wisdom contained here. I'm looking at a 2003 Boxster S, 16500 miles with a lot of options. Asking price is 26500. I (and the owner) know the ragtop needs replacing...

A Newbie Seeks Yoda on IMS Issue
Looking at buying a 2003 Boxster S with 16k miles. Would any one care to expand on this IMS issue I'm reading about? How does one check on this prior to purchase and is this a preventable issue?
