I do agree with you that there are success stories of Boxsters with many trouble free miles but I suspect the average of failures is much more then 2%. I spoke with 2 Porsche shops...

I would show the service history, low mileage and be as tactful as possible. Maybe point out that other Boxster owners have had engines replaced in the earlier years. I counted 43 engine failures...
