Any owners in NoVa or Central VA?
Was wondering if there were any GTG's in Northern or Central VA (anywhere between DC and Richmond VA)?

I'm in Northern Virginia and would like to get together with other boxster enthsiasts.
Bump  |
Cool! I'm in Richmond, but happily venture to DC or a halfway point for a meet.

I'm in Alexandria
gtg sounds good, I tried to get one going last year on pbb, nothing happened though.
|
There is a group in MA that gets together and shows each other how to do oil changes, etc. I wish there was something like that in the DC metro area.

Have any of you been to the car show in Manassas at the BK? Last time I went, there were two other boxsters mixed in with the other classics and not so classic cars that show up.
It is every Sat afternoon at the Burger King on 28 near the regional airport, south of Manassas. |
I'm just outside of Annapolis Maryland, but I'm not opposed to driving to NOVA.

Central Virginia - Farmville
I am in Farmville, Va which is about as Central Virginia as you can get. I am spending a lot of time playing with my 1-month old, 2000 Boxster.

take a look at www.dorkiphus.com a group that will gladly provide help/support especially if it involves pulling a motor ;)

NoVa (near Dulles) here..
The "local" porsche group, outside of PCA, chats here : www.dorkiphus.com Not many boxsters in the group, but we schedule "fun runs", "engine drops" etc during the year. Lots of DIY and BS (but most everyone on the board knows each other, or "of" each other - pretty friendly group) |
I'm IN as well as long as schedule permits.

I'm in Alexandria
NOVA
Will be doing the March 23rd Autocross in Maryland. Mandatory for a future DE. As far as a gtg, I'm game, or a drive through the mountains... |
So be the sponsor
Generally a good idea to pick some starting point that is easily identified, has lots of space, doesn't object to a gathering of car nuts who want to look at each other's cars. Then a drive through interesting scenery and twisty roads to an interesting destination. One where food and beverages and a sit down discussion on one of our favorite subjects can occur. Then a split off depending on where people are headed back to.
So you be the organizer .... Post here and on www.ppbb.com and see who you get. Maybe the first time there will be a few but if you chat up what a good time you had on those same forums, the next time the group grows. Suggest not limiting it to Boxsters as any P-car or other interesting car will make the discussions more fun. I'm doubtful as I'm moving in the next 2.5 months. But maybe ..... |
i'm in DC and have been enjoying Boxster fun for past month. gtg sounds like fun.

enough talk, let's do it!
