Another North Texas Boxster Enthusiasts Meeting!

When: Saturday, May 4th 2013 at noon (that's 12:00PM)
Where: TBD - could be Kennys place or we could meet closer to Arlington at a clandestine location of a professional pilot we know and do a "Fly By" on him BEFORE he has to go to work. he-he He doesn't KNOW this…yet!

The 'meeting' will take place in the mid-cities, either way. About time, right?

We are calling it, "Read Codes & Drive Roads". That's our agenda this meeting - don't you wish you could do THIS at work for a meeting agenda?

We have a Durametric and we're not afraid to use it!
"So, what does that mean and how does it help me?"
You will be able to read your cars' history, view codes and clear them and we can even get you a report. Kinda like the dealer but without all the hassles or costs! That is why we were formed. That and we all LOOK BETTER when we're together!

Then, we are going to go "out on the roads". Sort of like a Parade - but faster!
We have some roads around Kennys' place that are twisty and then we thought we would "show the natives" some specimens of fine sports cars. It'll just cost you gas money and be like a "Rolling Car Show". Except that it might get a little loud - since a few of us are "exhausted".

Proving yet again that our club will help you drive your car!

It's FREE, it's FUN, and that's why we're the some of the greatest guys you would ever want to know. Sorry ladies, there is no representation among our ranks, not counting wives…although I HAVE to COUNT my wife, so I guess we can put that whole "Porsche with panties" thing to rest. Although, we can make @PorscheChick an Honorary Member - just to be fair.

We may not be the first, but certainly the funnest club of 'Enthusiasts' you'll ever want to meet…so join us next week. Plan on it! (but check your phone, email or here for more details). Don't forget to bring your camera, or video. ;)

See and hear you there!

Can't Wait, but I don't know if my car will be in shape by then

You're a Porsche Surgeon…you can fix it! ;)

Have it ready by next week!

Kashmir, that will buff out.

We are indeed doing a "Touch & Go" (airplane lingo) at our pilot's place. We will meet and read your codes. Plus, we also have an IMS bearing with a Stage 2 failure that we can break apart and do a postmortem on to see what it looks like prior to giving up….and it was CLOSE to death!

So, COME for the fun, CHECK your car, STAY for the show and then DRIVE with a bunch of North Texas Boxster Enthusiast members.

PM to confirm and to get directions.

PS - you don't have to be a member to enjoy our club. Just let us know you want to go!

Hey guys,

This Saturday (May 4) we will be having a meetup in Bedford, Texas- located conveniently in between Dallas & Ft. Worth so drive times should be less than 30 minutes!

Please send me a message RSVP so we can get an accurate headcount- so far 6 people have confirmed

When? May 4, 12:00pm
Where? Bedford, TX (Message me for exact location)
What?
Durametric readings (What is your car's past?)
IMS bearing dissection (better than opening Al Capone's vault!)
Kenny is bringing Lunch- BBQ pulled pork & Chips
Show & tell Social
Leisurely drive-(Escort 4500ix just in case!)

It's my understanding that Saturday PCA Dallas will be out touring a winery and driving around. I find that dissecting a IMS bearing, and reading our car's information and statistics is a hell lot more interesting.

Come by this Saturday, let's surprise Bruce's neighbors!

Sincerely,
Kenny

Here are some North Texas Boxster Enthusiasts meeting pics from Saturday, May 4th 2013.

We had to use a shoe horn to get ALL those Boxsters in the driveway! DFW02S is on the front left here, mine is on the right. KennyBxster & Kashmir in row two.
http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1367762752.jpg

Here we have 4 Boxsters in the drive & 1 (BruceH's) n the garage + the 2 more on the street are Keyboy (on left) and Zims Auto master Porsche guru (on right)…AND we were more than a couple people light - you know you were! At long last we got to meet Kashmir (silver Boxster with aero wing - he is installing a trailer hitch that is why there are no Bumperettes shown). Kashmir is a 'Porsche Surgeon' so we are glad he was able to be there. Our "knowledge base" on these cars increases with every new member that attends.

The Boxster on the right belongs to a 30 year employee of Zimms Auto! He lives across the street, literally, from BruceH. We were glad to have his expertise and insight. He had some interesting stories to share - you'll just have to attend to hear for yourself!

Here my car is just ahead of DFW02S…about the only time that will happen!

Our host with his car in the garage and Kenny hard at work reading the computer.

Everyone enjoyed BruceH's new top with a GLASS window…and it was reasonably priced at around $450! Looks good too! The window is slightly smaller than the factory plastic but no more getting out of the car to do the "Boxster Chop" for him AND the window is heated. We ALL offered to take it off his hands. NICE!

Here is a new member's car, Kefboy. He was the Durametric winner with 0 type 2 overrevs on a 120k mile car! He bought it with a lot of upgrades, some he didn't even know were not standard - such as a 911 front bumper, rims, lowering springs...it is stunner! Nice car!
http://986forum.com/forums/uploads01...1367765973.jpg

Kefboy's 911 front bumper looks like it is smiling - having a good time too...

Aside from ALL the Porsche eye candy, we did manage to squeeze in some now famous KennyBoxster-style BBQ! Many people complimented him on the taste and he has an unusual recipe, made with Apple Juice?? …you'll have to ask Kenny for the details….but it WAS GOOD! Many had seconds, and thirds were not uncommon.

We did examine the remains of an IMS gone bad, but it was hard to see. Will have to take some closeups so everyone can get a look.

Hats off to our hosts Bruce & his wife Kim too. By themselves they MADE the party interesting! That's all I'm going to say, except that everyone had FUN! There may be more evidence circulating that proves the fun theory but we are trying to maintain an 'professional' image here, like our cars! So…keep it to yourself! ;-)

Here we are on the way home. So much for a parade BUT we DID turn a few heads!
