2001 Boxster Convertible Top
After ten years and 64k in miles the plastic window in my convertible top has cracked.
The top itself is in good condition with exception of a little scratch or two. Would it be better for me to just have the plastic window replaced? Or have the whole top replaced? Does anyone have a recommendation for a professional installer for replacing my convertiable top in South Florida and/or restalling the plastic window? |
I have a 2000 and replaced the rear window just a few months ago. If you are fairly mechanically inclined and take your time, you can remove the top, take it to a shop and have a new window put in. It will save you $$$. I spent a total on $180.00 to do mine.
Go to this site and check it out- http://sites.google.com/site/mikefocke2/replacingthetop-adiy It was very helpful for me. |

Thanks for the reply! I am not mechanically inclined and I am very particular (obessive) about my car. I found a place that will remove, fix and replace the top for $350.00. I was hoping to get feedback concerning someone who is professional and reputable in South Florida.
But thanks again! |
can you share the information about the place you found?

Hi guys, I'm looking to have my 2001 Boxster's rear plastic window replaced because it cracked. Any shops you can recommend in the East Bay area in California?
Thanks! |
