Unintended Sudden Acceleration 06 Cayman S

Loping along at 25 MPH my friend suddenly accelerated and was torqued into a telephone pole. No heart attack, no booze, 9 AM, sunny SoCal morning. Sheared the pole in half. Has anyone heard of this happening to anyone else.
