Here's another take on it that I've just thought of:
No one I have ever heard of has regretted buying a used Boxster.
They are such an amazing deal financially right now that even if you have major repair, it is still worth it.
Look at it this way. I paid $50K for my base Boxster in 2001, right before the collapse. I should be angry, because months later I they were going for around $42K. That's about the price of an engine.
But do I regret it? No way!
