clutch problem
2003 Boxster S purchased new in May 2003, now with 37,000 miles. Drove yesterday morning and it was fine; 2 hours later, clutch suddenly not engaging until almost all the way out. Half the miles are freeway, rest around town. No racing, no abuse. This is my first Porsche. Do the clutches fail this early? When the clutch goes, does it fail that fast?

Yes, clutches can fail "early". I have a friend who had about 15K miles on his when it failed. Complete failure. Stranded on the side of the road failure. No warning signs either.
His case was likely an anomoly. A clutch is a wear item. 40k miles would seem on the short side. Then again, when I used my 911 for Autocross and Drivers Ed, I got less mileage than that out of one. |

if not, then i would wonder if there are any pedal adjustments that un-did themselves. |
