What do these Durametric number's mean
Hello,..Like so many of us, I got the usual emission codes,..1128,1130,1137..also got the 4460 code
my MAF number's at idle and full temp of 180,..is MAF=bouncing between 10-11 kg/h MAF sensor = 1.23 . I dont understand these number's, are they close to spec. ? my Ign timing said 2.3 MS and my cam deviation is bad at bank 1 = 9.28 2. = 4.19..was hoping to get thru emissions not sure thats possible with my Cam deviation Number's...is it ? PS with engine running, I did spray carb cleaner around the whole engine, intake boot's,Injector's, base of intake tube's or runners Etc NO change in Idle. Thank's Frank |
Does the engine run better when the MAF is disconnected? If so you could have a failing MAF. It sounds like you should chase down an intake leak, though. I recommend that you pick up a smoke machine (or DIY it), smoke the intake, and see where the smoke is escaping.
Those cam values aren’t great, but my engine is at -8.25 and -6.25 (I’ll be replacing the pads soon) and has no check engine lights and should pass smog. |
Thank's 986lp,The car runs great, But after about a Hr of driving that light comes on,.I will get a smoker,I had a home made one,Maybe it was not strong enough to push the smoke thru the system Bc I didnt see any smoke anywhere. Thank's Frank

i just ordered a tool to measure cam deviation and i just replaced variocam pads and updated the 3 tensioners, so i will provide some data for comparison ( 2001S 170K km )

Thanks Iceman,..I appreciate that,..Frank

TOPDON 500 was a toal bust
it got here , i measured it , data showed from 2 cam sensors but was totally non interpretable data. Back to square one for me, guess i have to find someone with durometric or a foxwell and compare data. |
Ahh Bummer,..Thank's for the effort !!...Frank
