clutch pedal stuck to floor, sqealing noise from clutch area

Over the past few months there's been a slight whining noise when depressing the clutch in my 2001 Boxster S. Had some kind of major failure last week when clutch stuck to the floor there's and a high-pitched squeal coming from the clutch area now when the car runs in neutral. Does that sound like a failed pilot bearing?
