clutch issue

I'm having an issue where the clutch pedal is found on the floor. It was fine the last time i drove it but a month later it's on the floor. I can pull it back up and the clutch works normally...with no issues. It's happened twice and I'm sure it's sinking back to the floor as I type this. I would think the return spring would keep the pedal where it belongs, but I haven't had a chance to look at it. It's a 2000 S with about 35k on the clock. Just strange. Thanks.

More likely you are losing either the master or slave cylinder.

If the slave cylinder is leaking you will have fluid running down the left/drivers side of the transaxle.... most likely it's the master cylinder *plus* the return spring that are both bad.

Bad slave or master cylinders do not necessarily leak externally, either can have internal leaks that allow the pedal to move.
